(Classroom: 6:50-7:50 pm)

Faculty:  Debbie Ashton, MS, ATRIC

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Based on the Feldenkrais Method®, using movement that is grounded in evolution, you will learn how to evoke internal responses that increase structural strength. This course will involve specific skeletal positions through which rhythmical impulses are transmitted into the bones. This stimulates the receptors in the bone marrow to increase the production of osteoblasts, the cells that build bone tissue. This course has been taught in Israel for six years with positive bone density changes as recorded in two studies conducted at the University of Tel Aviv.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

·   Examine the causes and complications of osteoporosis.

·   Explore a pactical, self-help method to improve the health and longevity of bone tissue.

·   Discover how to achieve and assess postural alignment to create and maintain structural integrity.

Participants:  Please bring a towel or mat for floor work.  Please wear long pants, long sleeves, and socks to stay warm.
