Fort Myers, FL /
Thursday, July 3 – 9:40-10:40 am – 1.0 credit hour equal to 1.0 CEC/.1 CEU
(Classroom: 9:40-10:40 am)
Faculty: Sheralee Beebe, BA, MES
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course will provide an
introduction to the theory behind energy meridians, acupressure points, and
exercises used for the purpose of healing the internal organs, enlivening the
mind, restoring flexibility, and balancing the nervous system. Energy becomes
blocked from stress responses, overly tight muscles, injuries, emotional
traumas, fear, anxiety, etc. Ancient Asian philosophies have been revived
and adapted for modern needs. Practices like Tai Chi or Ai Chi are
examples of the application of these health-delivering philosophies. Such
programs are successful because they all teach the student to feel the movement
in their bodies, to move with focus, awareness and healing intention. When students are completely aware of ROM, they are empowered to
self-monitor, explore and improve while knowing they are in control of their
bodies.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
1) Identify the main energy meridians of the body.
2)
Identify the specific symptoms or disease associated with
each imbalance.
2) Practice energy meridian exercises
for arthritis, chronic pain (neck, shoulder, sciatic), constipation,
depression, insomnia, and obesity.
