COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Discuss the parameters of changing a therapy program by using the properties of water to progress to the “next” level to meet therapy goals and challenges. Instruction will include various progression ideas including equipment application - how, when, what is the effect on the participant, and anticipated change in action and physiological response.

 

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

·  Create guidelines for progressions in therapy programs.

·  Review the abilities of water to progress treatment programs.

·  Experiment with different types of aquatic equipment and its effect on exercise therapy.

 

FACULTY: Lexie Cox, MPT, ATRIC, has been an aquatic therapist for 10 years, working with children-to-geriatrics, neurological-to-orthopedic diagnoses. She has received awards for outstanding patient care and was nominated as Caregiver of Year. She is an instructor/trainer for the Arthritis Foundation, and a certified AEA Instructor.
