COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Neuromuscular
conditions such a cerebral palsy can affect the range of motion available to
perform functional movements. In this course we will look at increasing
flexibility in children with spasticity using a variety of warm water bodywork
techniques adapted for the pediatric client. We will show how to connect
increased flexibility to improved functional movement performance.
COURSE
OBJECTIVES:
· Demonstrate
six handling techniques to increase flexibility in the trunk, upper and lower
extremities in children with spasticity.
· Explore
the benefits and precautions of increasing flexibility.
· Identify
flexibility limitations that impact functional movements.
