COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This workshop will give the therapist an opportunity to
relate land-based myofascial release techniques to an aquatic environment.
Explore aquatic skills to enhance clinical and intuitive observations, to feel,
to relax and to mobilize restricted tissue.
COURSE
OBJECTIVES:
1) Examine the inter-connective nature of the myofascial system as you learn how to observe, assist and support the human body in a warm water environment.
2) Assess
muscle and energy tone in the water.
3) Practice
and refine proprioceptive skills through hands-on course study, allowing you to
gain more information from contact with your clients.
4) Explore
therapist and client positioning for release holds and soft tissue
mobilization.
FACULTY: Julia Meno-Fettig, CTRS,
ATRIC, is the founder/owner of Therapeutic Aquatics, Inc. and
aquaticcentral.com, specializing in consulting, information and rehabilitation.
She is a presenter for the Aquatic Therapy Rehab Institute, Inc. and is the
author and publisher of The "Bad Ragaz Ring Method Visual Instructional
Manual and Video". Also co-producer of “PNF in The Pool” Video, she is the
recipient of the ATRI 2002 Tsunami Spirit Award for her innovation, creativity
and implementation of new ideas. Her workshops have been received enthusiastically
by both national and international audiences.
