COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Practitioners of the Bad Ragaz Method will learn treatment patterns for specific muscle activation and/or inhibition for back rehabilitation. We will examine select BR Patterns to determine the quality and coordination of the muscle chain performance. Then, learn to quickly assess the areas of weakness and to develop a Bad Ragaz treatment plan based on the client's specific back condition (fusion, spinal stenosis, scolosis, kyphosis, arthritis spondylithothesesis, strain, trauma). BR Treatment utilizing isometric, istotonic and isokinetic patterns will be implemented to inhibit, stabilize, facilitate, strengthen and improve range of motion of the back musculature. The Bad Ragaz aquatic therapy is to be used in conjunction with other rehabilitation therapies for the best functional outcomes.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

1) Assess for poor quality of movement, weakness and pain in and relating to the back utilizing known Bad Ragaz Trunk Patterns, and then learn how to select appropriate BR Treatment for specific back conditions.

2) Examine indications pertaining to client positioning and equipment selection.

3) Determine facilitation and inhibition of the back muscles utilizing Bad Ragaz Treatment Patterns.
