Thursday, November 19 – 6:00-8:15 pm – 2 credit hours equal to 2 CECs/.2 CEUs
(Classroom: 6:00-8:15 pm)
Faculty: Sara Firman, BSc, MPhil
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
In addition to clinical applications, aquatic bodywork is now part of
spa-leisure and alternative health services. In these different settings, it
has different purposes and values. Even
where evidence-based research is not considered important, there is value in
documenting sessions and sharing findings.
Every non-clinical practice will be a creative reflection of the
practitioner and the environment he/she works in, so the form such records take
will vary from practice to practice. However, it is still useful to consider what
might or should be included.
This workshop will discuss the above and invite
discussion. Suggestions will be offered for what constitutes a basic
documentation package covering: 1. Preparing for a session, 2. Reporting on a
session, and 3. Reviewing a series of sessions.
COURSE
OBJECTIVES:
1) Explore
insights gained from documented experiences of aquatic bodywork practice.
2) Recognize
the importance of documentation in assessing the effectiveness of aquatic
bodywork and its unique value to clients.
3) Determine
a basic documentation package to cover patient/client sessions.
