COURSE DESCRIPTION: Examine the importance of land evaluations and how to set up aquatic treatment plans. Adjust your plan based on performance in the water and determine how to re-evaluate effectively.  Identify proper discharge planning and continuing care options for your patients/clients.

This course will assist physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other licensed professionals in developing techniques for treating their patients and clients. We will examine the important components of a land evaluation prior to treating the individual in the water. The evaluation will become the basis for the treatment plan in the pool.  However, we will learn to recognize when adjustments need to be made based on performance in the aquatic environment. Professionals will develop guidelines for regular re-evaluations. We will also discuss different reasons for discharging patients based on patient progress, medical necessity, insurance, patients ability to pay out of pocket, and what other types of programs exist post-discharge. The components needed for re-evaluation and discharge reports will also be included in this course.
