COURSE DESCRIPTION: Although
you are regularly attacked with exercises claiming to tone and strengthen the
abdominal muscles, many of these exercises are inadequate and ineffective, especially
when done in water. Abdominal exercises are prescribed
for both the prevention and treatment of low back injury. However, these
exercises sometimes appear to have no effect if done incorrectly. The
purpose of this course is to provide practitioners
with useful information necessary to choose the most appropriate exercise for
the individual. In addition, several myths and fallacies about
abdominal training in water will be dismissed.
COURSE
OBJECTIVES:
1) Identify safer and more effective exercises to train the
abdominal musculature in the water.
2) Discover
three basic concepts of exercise prescription for abdominals in water.
