COURSE DESCRIPTION: When working with children we will have better
results if we handle them in individual ways to meet their needs. We will focus
on children with specific strength patterns, low (or high) tone, reflexive
reactions, righting difficulty, and sensory needs. In this course we will move
children in ways that will best assist in their rehabilitation.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
1) Explore
aquatic techniques that can be used for children.
2) Use
aquatic principles to assist in creating motor learning sequences.
3) Adapt
handling to meet the needs of individual children.
4) Handle
children with different body shapes and skills.
FACULTY: Eevaliisa Anttila, PT, MBA, is the founder and CEO of the Finnish Institute
of Aquatics, a center for aquatic fitness and therapy. As a physiotherapist, she has created numerous
programs, developed aquatic fitness equipment; produced aquatic videos and
DVDs; and is a photographer and author of four aquatic books. During her
sessions, you will enjoy the water, learn how to reveal your maximum potential
and get new ideas.
