Beginner / Symposium 1-hour Pool Only
Sanibel, FL / Tuesday, June 29, 2010 – 3:10-4:10 pm
– 1.0 credit hour equal to 1.0 CEC/.1 CEU
(Pool: 3:10-4:10 pm)
Faculty: Sheralee Beebe, BA, MES
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Reflexology is a natural healing art based on the
principle that there are reflexes in the feet, hands and ears that when
palpated stimulate their referral areas within each zone, energy meridian and
chakra center, which stimulate better function and energy flow to every part,
gland and organ of the body. Through application of pressure on these reflexes,
reflexology relieves tension, improves circulation and helps promote the
natural function of the related areas of the body. Flowing reflexology is an
adaptation of this effective land treatment technique into water to provide the
practitioner with an effective aquatic bodywork tool that can be combined with
other aquatic body work techniques or stand on its own. Use flowing reflexology
for the treatment of chronic pain, neurological conditions, chronic disease and
chronic tension.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
1) Examine
the reflex points of the feet that correspond with the healing of the internal
organs.
2) Activate
the reflexes through various pressure, vibration, and palpation techniques.
3) Utilize water
and footwork to incorporate movement of the entire body into the foot treatment.
