COURSE
DESCRIPTION:
Providing the right aquatic exercise/therapy program for the
geriatric population is challenging when working with clients with a wide range
of limitations. This course will focus on common problems and diagnoses that
the geriatric population experience, along with physical and psychological
benefits that are included with aquatic treatment. Participants who attend this
course will determine which techniques are safe and appropriate specific to the
clientele served.
COURSE
OBJECTIVES:
1) Identify treatment techniques for various diagnoses/conditions
within the geriatric population.
2) Apply modification of treatment techniques to match
clientÕs situation.
3) Identify safety protocols for geriatric population.
4) Apply aquatic therapy equipment to match clientÕs
situation.
FACULTY: Kristine Kading,
CTRS, ATRIC, is President of LIFE Therapeutic Solutions, Inc. She has
been a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist for 10 years and Aquatic
Therapy & Rehab Institute Certified for three years. She specializes in
working with the geriatric population in both recreation and aquatic therapy.
