COURSE
DESCRIPTION: Prescribe a safe and
effective exercise program for the obese population, while discovering the role
of exercise in improving weight loss. Understand
the physiological, psychological and cultural issues impacting weight
management. Learn the physiopathology, diagnostic and recommendation
for managing the metabolic syndrome including: lifestyle interventions,
weight loss, physical activity and healthy eating habits. Increase exercise
effectiveness and develop state of the art fitness programming, with
fundamental, factual and practical information.
COURSE
OBJECTIVES:
1) Review scientific research on metabolic syndrome and
weight management.
2) Establish guidelines on exercise prescription.
3) Apply a safe and
effective exercise program to prevent and treat Metabolic Syndrome.
FACULTY: Eduardo Netto,
MS, is the Fitness Director of the A Body Tech Health Club, the largest
health club chain in Brazil. He has a masterŐs degree in human motricity and is currently pursuing his PhD in medical studies.
He is an international presenter and well-respected fitness professional and
consultant in Brazil. He has
published books, DVDs and a CD-ROM on fitness programs.
