Beebe, BA, MES
COURSE DESCRIPTION: As healers we are good at helping patients toward
wellness, and many of us are so other-focused that we exhaust ourselves helping
everyone while ignoring our own bodiesŐ messages to pay attention to self-care. This
course will focus on the common stressors we encounter in our personal lives
and while working in the health field as an aquatic professional. Learn to be
more aware of your mental and emotional reaction to stressors, and how this
reaction feels in the body. Examine strategies and skills to manage and lessen
the negative physical impact of stress. Learn relaxation and holistic wellness
practices for the purpose of creating better balance, health and awareness in your
career. We will develop your own personal wellness plan to become a healthier
and more effective practitioner.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
1) Identify
attitudes and choices we make that result in poor self-care behaviors.
2) Discover
simple methods to become more attuned to the wisdom and language of your body.
3) Develop
practical skills for personal stress management.
4) Devise
methods to incorporate self-healing practices into your busy schedule.
