In this course we will focus on aquatic therapy of hypotonic children from 3 months old to 24 months. This is a Scandinavian program to move children in ways that will best assist in their rehabilitation, and help them to initiate right movement patterns with head and body control.

1)  Examine aquatic techniques that can be used as therapy for hypotonic children in the water.
2)  Apply aquatic principles to assist in creating motor learning sequences.
3)  Adapt handling to meet the needs of individual children.
4)  Explore handling children with different body shapes and skills.

FACULTY: Eevaliisa Anttila, PT, MBA, is the founder and CEO of the Finnish Institute of Aquatics, a center for aquatic fitness and therapy. As a physiotherapist, she has created numerous programs, developed aquatic fitness equipment; produced aquatic videos and DVDs; and is a photographer and author of four aquatic books.
