COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Come experience the Aqua- adjustable, drag-resistance water exercise equipment and appreciate the versatility of application and usage of this new equipment. Use it for isolated muscle strengthening, core stabilization or overall conditioning. Use it in group settings or one-on-one, in deep or shallow water, or just to enhance any water exercise session.

 

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

1)  Experience Aqua- equipment.

2)  Adjust equipment for different resistance levels and user heights.

3)  Apply drag-resistance and adjust intensity.

4)  Recognize when the use of the Aqua- is beneficial for your session.

 

FACULTY: Irene Pluim Mentz, PT, has combined her education in physical therapy and her knowledge of hydrodynamics to develop the Aqua- adjustable drag resistance water exercise equipment. Irene became a licensed physical therapist in the Netherlands before immigrating to the United States. She and her husband own their own physical therapy business. Irenes passion for water led to becoming an AEA certified instructor. Irene integrates her physical therapy knowledge into her aquatic classes and vice-versa. She works with a variety of diagnoses and in multiple settings.
