Thank You for Your Interest in Volunteering at our Symposium.

Symposium Volunteer Duties

We have two different types of positions available: Course Monitor (CM) and Equipment/Speaker Assistant (ESA).

Typical tasks of the Course Monitor and the Equipment/Speaker Assistant volunteers include moving pool equipment, checking and operating audiovisual equipment, and monitoring attendance in courses.  You are often able to fully participate in the course in which you are assigned.  However you lose the flexibility in which courses you attend because we set your work schedule for you.

We prepare you for your job by sending you information in advance, and by holding a meeting for all volunteers. The meeting is Tuesday, July 1st from 9:00 am-12:00 pm.  This meeting is MANDATORY.

Click below to select five positions that are of interest to you, in order of preference, and be sure to respond ASAP if you are really interested! There are limited positions and many potential volunteers. Volunteers pay a reduced registration fee in exchange for your work hours; your discounted fee is $450. This includes: attendance to courses, continuing education credits, Symposium Program CD including all course handouts, Exhibit Hall, all meals, and the Thursday Reception and Awards Celebration.

If you are interested in working in one of the Pre-Symposium Courses, see the "Pre-Symposium Volunteer Opportunities" below. Pre-Symposium courses are a separate volunteer opportunity with a separate fee. The direct link is below.

Please complete the proper form below and return it to the ATRI office with your Volunteer Application (see below), we will notify you if you have been chosen.

Symposium Volunteer Opportunities

Mandatory Volunteer Meeting

Volunteer responsibilities begin at 9:00 am Tuesday. You'll have a chance to review all procedures, practice running AV equipment, and receive other pertinent information. We'll cover all the basics so you will be ready for anything that comes your way during the Symposium. In order to be considered as a volunteer, you must be available from 9:00 am Tuesday to Thursday at 4:00 pm.

Volunteer Application

To be considered, you must complete the Volunteer Application and send us a commitment deposit of $100. This commitment deposit will NEVER be cashed unless you accept a volunteer position and then don't perform the assigned responsibilities, or if you accept a position and cancel with less than 30 days to the event. Having a commitment deposit with your application simply lets us know you're serious about volunteering and doing a good job.

1. Please complete and sign the Volunteer Application. Next, e-mail, fax or mail it to the ATRI office.
2. Enclose your $100 volunteer commitment deposit or complete credit card information with your application.

About your Deposit Check

If you are selected and complete all assigned volunteer tasks, we will return your deposit check to you after the Symposium. In the event you must cancel, your deposit check will be returned to you only if notification of cancellation is made 30 days prior to the event. If you cancel after that time, the deposit check will be cashed. If not selected as a volunteer, you will be notified and the deposit check returned.
Remember that we will not cash this deposit unless you cancel with short notice, or do not perform the responsibilities assigned to you.

"When Do I Register?"

Wait for notification of acceptance. Please do not register until you are notified. Once you have been notified that you have been accepted, you may complete the registration form and send it to us with your discounted registration fee of $450. This registration check will be cashed. Once you have been notified you will be considered a volunteer for that event. If you do not wish to accept the position, you must notify us immediately.

Once you accept the volunteer position, you will be sent a Volunteer Instruction/Duties Sheet that will include your finalized schedule along with your responsibilities. Schedules are subject to change.

This is a lot of information to digest but we want to make sure you know all the responsibilities and benefits of volunteering. Previous volunteers have found this to be a rewarding experience and we hope you will too! We look forward to hearing from you.
