Volunteers pay a reduced registration fee in exchange for your work hours. Your discounted fee is $350 (including the $25 materials fee for the Certificate Program).
This includes: attendance in courses, continuing education credits and the sit-down luncheon. ATRI members will receive preference in filling positions. All other applications are accepted on a first come, first serve basis. If you are interested in volunteering in one of the Pre-Conference Courses see the “Pre-Conference Course Volunteer Opportunity” link below. Pre-Conference courses are a separate volunteer opportunity and fee.
National Aquatic Specialty Certificate Conference Volunteer Duties
We have two different types of positions available: Course Monitor (CM) and Equipment/Speaker Assistant (ESA).
Typical tasks of the Course Monitor and the Equipment/Speaker Assistant
volunteers include checking and operating audio-visual
equipment, monitoring attendance in courses, and some assistance in moving pool
equipment. You are often able to fully
participate in the course in which you are assigned. However, you lose the
flexibility in which courses you attend because we set your work schedule for you.
We prepare you for your job by sending you information in advance, and by holding a meeting for all volunteers from 4:30-6:00 pm on Thursday. A light snack will be served at the Volunteer Meeting. This meeting is MANDATORY.

Click below on the "Event Volunteer Opportunities" link to select three positions that are of interest to you, in order of preference, and be sure to respond ASAP if you are really interested! There are limited positions and many potential volunteers.

Pre-Conference Course Volunteer Opportunity
This is a separate offer and volunteers who are attending the complete conference are given preference. If you are interested in volunteering for any of these
courses, please complete the form and return it with your application. You
could be chosen as a Volunteer for one
of these courses and pay only $225 for that course.

Pre-Conference Course Volunteer Opportunity - Chicago
Mandatory Volunteer Meeting
Volunteer responsibilities begin at 4:30 pm Thursday. You'll have a chance to review all procedures, practice running AV equipment, and receive other pertinent information. We'll cover all the basics so you will be ready for anything that comes your way during the Conference. In order to be considered as a volunteer, you must be available from Thursday at 4:30 pm to Sunday at 12 noon.
Volunteer Application
To be considered, you must complete the Volunteer Application and send us a commitment deposit of $100. This commitment deposit will NEVER be cashed unless you accept a volunteer position and then don't perform the assigned responsibilities, or if you accept a position and cancel with less than 30 days to the event. Having a commitment deposit with your application simply lets us know you're serious about volunteering and doing a good job.

About your Deposit Check
If you are
selected and complete all assigned volunteer tasks, we will return your deposit
check to you after the Conference. In the event you must cancel, your
deposit check will be returned to you only if notification of cancellation is made 30 days prior to the event.
If you cancel after that time, the deposit check will be cashed. If not selected
as a volunteer, you will be notified and the deposit check returned.
Remember that we will not cash this deposit unless you cancel with short
notice, or do not perform the responsibilities assigned to you.
"When Do I Register?"
Wait for notification of acceptance. Please do not register until you are
notified. Once you have been notified that you have been accepted, you
may complete the registration form and send it to us with your
discounted registration fee of $350. This registration check will be cashed.
Once you have been notified you will be considered a volunteer for that event.
If you do not wish to accept the position, you must notify us immediately.
