Intermediate / Pool Workshop

Specific warm water aquatic therapy techniques and exercise can provide the ideal nurturing environment that acute and chronic pain clients need to assist with relaxation, coping and relief from symptoms. Learn new and effective modalities to treat pain using a combination of methods to calm the responses of the autonomic nervous system. You will learn an interactive aquatic progressive approach to enable persons with pain to have a healthier connection with themselves so they will have the tools necessary to avoid pain, lessen the duration and increase active independence.
1) Identify aquatic therapy treatment protocol for clients with acute and chronic pain.
2) Utilize the pool to progress clients with acute pain.
3) Identify the physiological and psychological responses to both acute and chronic pain.
4) Discover and practice self-help techniques for clients in the pool.
FACULTY: Julia Meno, CTRS, CMT, ATRIC, is the founder/owner of Therapeutic Aquatics, Inc. and provides provides individual Myofascial Aquatic Body Work, AquaStretch™ and adaptive aquatic classes. She is the author and publisher of The Bad Ragaz Ring Method Visual Instructional Manual and Video; and co-producer of the PNF in The Pool and Myofascial Aquatic Body Work DVDs. She received the 2014 Aquatic Therapy Professional Award and the 2002 ATRI Tsunami Spirit Award.
